Who we are
Quantico is a new type of finance service for startups and entrepreneurs. We provide our clients with:
Monthly meetings with an outsourced Finance Director, who understands them and their business
A super slick accounting service that saves time and provides insight
Custom dashboards and reports that bring the numbers to life
We’re a decentralised firm, which means that all of our bookkeepers and the majority of our Finance Directors are remote freelancers.
We work with startups and small businesses across a range of industries that have between 1 and 50 employees.
You would be the very first full time Portfolio FD, which means that alongside managing your own portfolio there is a huge scope to get involved in a wide variety of tasks helping to build this fast growth business.
The day to day role will involve:
Running a portfolio of your own clients. Meeting entrepreneurs once a month, helping them to understand their accounts and build their financial strategy.
On-boarding new clients. Helping businesses work out their key performance indicators and setting up the reports to track them. Writing instruction briefs to hand over new clients to our accounting team.
Building the firm. Helping to develop our own internal processes, joining in with marketing initiatives and hiring a team.
Don’t worry, being a Finance Director doesn't mean that you’re expected to know the answer to every question. As long as you're able to go away, find the answer, and explain it back in plain English then you'll be fine. You’d be surprised how much the knowledge that you take for granted can help a busy entrepreneur grow their business.
Who we’re looking for
We're really looking for the right individual rather than the right qualifications, but we expect that individual will be an accountant with between zero and five years post qualification experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience from both a top accounting firm and a fast growth company. Experience of working for or helping build a startup is also highly beneficial.
Being comfortable talking to existing clients and winning new ones is a key requirement. Being clear with clients and letting them know when what they're asking for is out of scope is one of the biggest challenges of the role.
Crucially we need someone who has an entrepreneurial spirit and who's comfortable working things out for themselves when the situation calls for it.
