Join us as a Systems and Operations Analyst

Unlike typical accountants we work directly in our clients offices, getting to know the team and getting under the skin of their businesses.
About the role
The role will be split between working on client projects, and supporting our COO on developing and executing our own internal processes.
Although our primary focus as an organisation is on Finance Operations, we encounter a wide range of business problems that can be solved using operations knowledge and software. A key part of this role is to rapidly understand these problems, research possible solutions, make recommendations, and implement
You’ll be be closely supported and supervised in this role by our Finance Business Partners, accountants who manage the relationship with our clients. But over time you will build up an expertise on the types of problems that you regularly encounter, and the best solutions in each case.
Using your knowledge of systems and data to help design and implement solutions for our clients
Owning the onboarding and customer due diligence process on new clients
Developing a central repository of knowledge on frequent problems. For example, how do we ensure that payments are scheduled and made efficiently? How do we rapidly get the right level of access to different online banking systems?
Working directly with our COO, to develop and improve our internal processes
Occasionally liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
We’re looking for an individual that has a keen interest in business software and operations who understands how data flows from one system to another.
You need to be a self starter who is comfortable being given problems and finding solutions. We’re looking for someone who enjoys teaching themselves how to use software to solve problems. As so many of the problems that we encounter are unique we will not be able to guide you through an answer.
We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, identifying when they need help and asking for support where appropriate. The role is not suitable for someone who expects directive coaching, constant supervision or predictable routines.
You need to be able to understand the environment in which startups operate, so that you can you propose solutions that not only work, but make commercial sense.
1-3 years experience in a start-up role
Experience with finance or billing systems is beneficial
Accounting experience or training is beneficial but not required
